In May 2007, A.S.I. visited the Ibn Battuta Centre premises and also investigated some of the sites that are under study. These sites have been selected by the Centre to perform tests and analysis of rovers, landers and instruments dedicated to the Mars and planetary exploration. Among others, the delegation included the Director for the Science of the Universe, the responsible for the study of the Solar System, the responsible for the Exploration programme and an executive of Thales Alenia Space (Turin).
