The site consists of a small basaltic unit that expands within a large valley. The “flood basalt” originates in a fault along the northern slope of the valley and occurs at the top of a dissected plateau. The unit is a prominent feature along the large valley west of Tinerhir and its colour contrasts with the predominant calcareous lithologies.
